Feedback: General

I am happy that Mrs. Misan McFarland, the Mayor of Warwick, England, is moving on politically, even though she has completed her tenure as Mayor. She is indeed a shining example to Nigerians and Africans in diaspora.
            –– Alero Okotie, Warri.
I am proud as an Itsekiri woman each time I read positive stories about the Mayor of Warwick, UK (Mrs. Misan McFerland) in Warri Mirror. Please, tell her we are very proud of her.
            –– Jolomi Davies, Lagos.
Chief Nelson Utieyione has shown the way for other well-to-do Itsekiris, particularly our politicians in Asaba, to follow. He has also shown that you do not need to be in Government before you can add value to the Itsekiri nation. May God bless him and his entire family.
            –– Peter Asenguah, Benin.
THERE is more joy in giving than receiving. May Chief Nelson Utieyione continue to experience joy as he sets up the ‘Utieyione Educational Foundation’, to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged but brilliant Itsekiri children.
            –– Tuokpe Madamedon, Warri.
WILL Chief E.K. Clark and his gang of Elders ever give up? Please, tell them that attacking our amiable Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, amounts to attacking God and His will. They should all beware of the wrath of God.
            –– Ogbeyiwa Nani, Warri.
IT is very clear, Chief Ogboru, Barr. (Mrs.)Veronica Bamuza Mutu and Ogbe Onokpite, all have no case against the last Governorship Election in Delta State. However, Chief Peter Okocha of the AC has a genuine ground to be aggrieved but he should please, in the interest of Delta State, allow the sleeping dog lie and accept the offer made to him. This is the wise thing to do.
            –– Benjamin Okogwu, Asaba.
DR. Emmanuel Uduaghan should please call his boys to order to stop being arrogant in “Victory.” They are only marking time in Asaba Government House. They will soon be kicked out!
            –– Efe Eruotor, Sapele.
PLEASE, advice Koko people not to do anything that will provoke Celtel and indeed other GSM operators in the underdeveloped local government headquarters, from packing out. Enough of these stories of tussle over land and what have you. Can’t the land even be given out free by the community for purposes of development?
            –– Amaejuma Smith, Lagos.
THE take over of the Koko Port by Greenleigh Nigeria Limited, is a welcome development. It is hoped that leadership of the company under Mr. William Kpere Daibo,  a Koko indigene, will use it as an opportunity to open up Koko and environs. Koko is long overdue for this development.
            –– Toritseju Edemi, Ibadan.
ENGR. Frank Ogbemi is another exemplary Itsekiri-born achiever. Your X-ray of his profile is a great challenge to the younger generation in Itsekiriland. He is an epitome of hardwork and achievements.
            –– Misan Etirerentse, Abuja.
I cannot agree less with Mr. Emmanuel Adokpaye and Barr. Edward Ekpoko, on their suggestions for the development of Itsekiriland. They have said it all! The problem is that of implementation. Are the present Itsekiri leaders, particularly the political class, willing to listen to this voices of reason?
            –– Ogbeyiwa Jemide, Lagos.
YES, DESOPADEC is a big deal but it will be a bigger deal if members of the board, particularly those from the Delta South Senatorial District, see this as a lifetime opportunity to rapidly develop the neglected oil producing communities in the State. It should not be seen as an opportunity for them to enrich themselves, relations and close friends.
            –– Temisan Smith, Lagos.
IT will be a shame if DESOPADEC becomes another 13 per cent oil derivation committee set up by former Governor James Ibori. That project by Ibori was a monumental failure. There should be a marked difference in this new DESOPADEC. Period.
            –– James Odeli, Port Harcourt.
THE present board of DESOPADEC, as far as am concerned, did not start well. I understand they are already in debt, yet they spent bulk of their take-off grant on themselves alone, buying Jeeps and what have you. This is very selfish! They have simply told us what they will do as board members of DESOPADEC. They should, however, remember that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) EFCC is watching.
            –– Sylvester Ebietuoma, Warri.
THOUGH it is said that “nearly does not kill a bird,” I, however, think that Miss Omawumi Megbele did us proud at the ‘Idols West Africa’ show. Ditto for Dede Mabiaku. They both deserve an award.
            –– Roli Ukaegbu, Lagos.
THOUGH Omawumi Megbele did well at the ‘West Africa Idols,’ TV reality show, I think the real star at the end of the day is Dede Mabiaku. He demonstrated his Itsekiriness more than anything else. He was clearly the best among the panel of judges.
            –– Otimeyin Omabuwa, Benin.
HON. Temi Harriman should and must fight on until Mr. James Manager is kicked out of that seat as the Senator representing the Delta South Senatorial District. It was simply a daylight robbery of the Itsekiri right. This, though was aided by some of our own sons and daughters in the name of concession to win the Governorship seat. Shame on all the betrayers of Itsekiri cause!
            –– Jemine Eyube, Kaduna.
UGBORODO people know where, when and how to make Chevron and other oil companies act responsibly. The problem is simply the leadership both at elders and youth level. They are all greedy, and as such, falling head-long for the oil companies divide and rule tactics. That is the man issue!
            –– Ebietsuwa Eyinsan, Warri.
