Uduaghanphobians

In my last piece entitled “Those who will dance naked”, I merely stated that Uduaghanphobia, in my opinion, is a terrible political disease whose victims will dance naked in the market place, the village squares and other public places after the Governorship elections of April 14, 2007. Phobia, according to modern dictionaries, is an extreme or abnormal dislike or fear for another human being. The Uduaghanphobians are therefore those who dislike and hate Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, His Excellency, the Governor - elect of Delta State. From all indications, this phrase has gradually graduated into a terminal political disease capable of consuming its victims.
It is now crystal clear that the ex-Commissioner for health and ex-Secretary to the Delta State Government, has what it takes to scale through all the hurdles on his way to occupy the Government House,Asaba. From the information at my disposal, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan polled a total figure of about 1.4 million votes to beat other Guber candidates. Thus, the man has been separated from the Gubernatorial area boys.
However, there were isolated cases of mild protests and arsons which greeted the announcement of the victorious Governor-elect. In sharp contrast to the brigandage, criminality and ethnic thuggery displayed by the unfortunate human beings, there were uninterrupted jubilations in most parts of the state. It goes to indicate that the PDP Guber candidate is most acceptable by Deltans when compared with other of his co-contestants.
It is usual that when Nigerian politicians are defeated in elections, their desperate tendency is to cry wolf even where non exists. They must address the media and complain of election rigging to the advantage of the victorious ones. On the other hand, when they are declared winners, the elections should be seen as being free and fair. These permutations are obviously visible and absolutely pronounced with the Nigeria polity.
The reaction of the Delta Broadcasting Service in Warri and Asaba to the INEC’s result announcement by the NTA is even more devastating. The stations bluntly refused to air the victory of the Governor that same day for reasons best known to them. I am grossly hesitant to believe that “it was due to security reasons”. This was the porous excuse put forward by a senior staff of the Broadcasting Service. By this action, the two stations, also suffer terribly from the political stroke of Uduaghanphobia. With effect from May 29, 2007. I expect that His Excellency will re-organise the Broadcasting Stations to enable it reflect the long overdue ethnic balance in the state.
It simply does not make any credible sense to expect the Onomes, Ochukos, Umukoros, Jobomes, Oroguns and other of such Urhobo names to dominate the stations. After all, there are also Isokos, Ijaw, Ibos and Itsekiris in the state. These re-organisations  should be foremost in the mind of the Guvernor-elect. The wicked domination of the Delta Broadcasting Service by those who claim that they are born to rule Delta State is totally unacceptable to other ethnic groups. This is the appropriate time to purge the remnant contempt of the stations in the fundamental interest of equity, justice and fairplay.
There is no doubt in my mind that some redolent and reactionary characters, especially a few anti-Uduaghan political project, have started to dance naked along the Warri/Sapele Road, obviously in reaction to the victory of the Governor-elect. A few Urhobo market women who were mobilized by the Uduaghanphobians, marched to the Delta Broadcasting Service in Warri to showcase their busy body intentions against the deserved victory of Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan, the supper PDP Governorship candidate. Nobody could ascertain how much each of the degenerated and the mentally sick women were paid by those who have vowed to crucify the Governor-In-waiting. The women in question are better placed to narrate their experiences at the axis of the Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri. What the protesting and emaciated women did was surely to test the will of the Inspector General of police who had earlier placed a ban on street protests all over the country. Based on this, they met with a stiff resistance by fierce - looking soldiers and policemen at the DBS. No sympathy, because they got what they deserved.
Meanwhile, the grand ethnic Garrison Commanders, Chiefs Benjamin Okumagba and Edwin Kiagbodo Clark stayed at home reviewing hopelessly the gubernatorial status of Delta State. I am optimistic that till date, they are yet to be convinced that Uduaghan won the race with a wide margin to beat all his opponents. These tribal philosophers are finding it extremely difficult to sleep comfortably in the day and night in view of the fact that they undertook an incomplete self-imposed assignment to sponsor and promote their surrogate and stooge to the number one citizenship seat in the state.
Already, I foresee a scenario whereby a high life dance band is being assembled in preparation for the May 29, 2007 celebration. This is the exact date for the Swearing-In-Ceremony of Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan as the next Executive Governor of Delta State. David Ejoor appears to be leader of the Band. Fred Brume shall be the lead guitarist; Obielum Godwil as the Piano expert; Dr. Tosanwumi as base guitarist; Peter Okocha as the drummer boy while Kenneth Gbagi shall be the lead vocalist.
I equally guess that venue of the anti-Uduaghan occasion would be Kiagbodo, the aboriginal hometown of Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clarke. Kiagbodo shall therefore host all the Uduaghanphobians on the August occasion. It is probably certain that the squad is already rehearsing a kind of negative “Ewetan Music”. Top dignitaries of the occasion shall be Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and Benjamin Okumagba, the Chieftains of Uduaghanphobians. There and there alone, all haters of the Governor-elect shall dance naked in the public while Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan would be making his first broadcast to the good people of Delta State. Perhaps, they may decide to dance naked for a period not exceeding eight good years, at least, every May 29.
