Warri Community, UK On The Move

The Warri Community, UK and Ireland, may have properly repositioned itself to effectively take charge as the umbrella body for Itsekiri clubs and associations in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland.
This much was demonstrated on the 20th of this month in London, when representatives of key Itsekiri clubs and associations in the UK and Ireland, showed up at the first post-election General Meeting of the body.
Key on the agenda of the well-attended meeting were the presentation of the newly elected Executive Officers, scholarship project for Itsekiri students in Nigeria, Saturday School (Itsekiri Language and Culture) for children in the UK and Ireland and the presentation of gifts to Pa Albert Atigolo and his wife for their longstanding support to the club over the years.
The newly elected executives are Dr. Aghanfordemije Merrick Lori (President), Mrs. Ebun Eno-Amooquaye (Nee Idundun- Vice President), Mrs. Omayeli Diana Odeli (Secretary), Mrs. C. M. Tata (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Bawo Ogun (Welfare Officer).
Others are Mr. Evans Amiwero (Publicity Officer), Mr. Janet Kuyatsemi (Financial Secretary), Mrs. Georgina O. Enang (Assistant Financial Secretary), Mrs. Comfort A. Iyinboh (Cultural Officer), Mr. Mathew Asenguah (Cultural Officer), Mr. David S.O. Eyiangho (Treasurer) and Chief A. Olowu (Assistant Treasurer).
Receiving the recognition award, Pa Atigolo and his wife thanked members of the club for given them the honour, even as they pledged to remain steadfast to the aims and objectives of the club.
